This is gorgeous. The light and shadow is astounding. Abhorsen's house is exactly how I imagined it, with the wall, and the orange-red roofs and trees. I actually just re-read Sabriel and I do have to mention one thing: the waterfall goes down after Abhorsen's house, not before. If you read the descriptions and look at the map at the beginning of the book, Abhorsen's house is upstream of the waterfall (which goes off the Long Cliffs).
This is definitely prettier, though.

Thank you for your appreciation. This is also how I understood the description and even if it's not so visible on my painting, the waterfall goes down just behind the house. But I also added lots of waterfalls in the background. At some point, imagination always has to run wild ;-).

That's Beautiful!! I love the charter mark on the Stone, and the depth of shade and colour of the Abhorsens House... LOVE LOVE LOVE.

It is very dark and yet because of the light on the town on that mountain it creates something magical. I really like the mood you created in this wonderful piece of art.
